Wedding Stuff - Entry 1

The invitations came yesterday. Haven't seen them yet because I thought the package with the doorman was something else. I'll get those lovely tulipy purple inked beauties tonight.

I picked the cake - three heart shaped layers (6", 9" and 12") chocolate cake with chocolate AND white chocolate mousse AND chocolate buttercream icing AND chocolate truffles decorating the top. I get to sample truffles this Saturday.

And, I had almost decided not to do favors at the tables, but the Cake Lady makes the most incredible brownies that I may just have to have those in little window boxes at each place setting. Precious, I know. Precious and delicious! Which is what I'm all about!

Got the menu down - after the ceremony we'll have a champagne toast, hour'dourves (sp???) and then dinner. Ceasar Salad and a choice of Salmon, Filet Mignon or Chicken. No shell fish. No clam chowder. Oh well. Everyone eats shell fish (except for me) but, since it's a Jewish Wedding, no shell fish. (But mixing meat and dairy is okay. Go figure. It's gonna take me the rest of my life to figure out how to be Jewish!)

Meeting with the Photographer on Saturday, too. Busy times.

Oh yeah. The brakes on our car failed today when the Fiance was on his way to work. He's pretty rattled but okay. So now we have to get the brakes fixed and (he's decided) look for a new car. All while he's trying to finish the year and I'm trying to plan a wedding. Sheesh!

(And, since I haven't mentioned the furbabies recently, they are fine. Merlin gained 1/4th a pound since his last vet visit, which is okay. He's gotta go back on his bitter-foam inducing medicine again which kinda sucks. Isabella got a clean bill of health at her recent vet visit. She also had her teeth cleaned and got microchipped - for when she finally decides to make a run for it. Of course, she'll have to stop being scared of the elevator first!)
